Making career development a priority

Furman is one of several schools mentioned in a Chronicle of Higher Education article about liberal arts colleges that are starting or expanding programs to get students to think about their career goals, both early and often. Last year, the university announced The Furman Advantage, which provides every student with a highly individualized learning experience that more effectively engages students in career and professional development activities. Thanks to a recent $2.5 million grant from The Duke Endowment, Furman will partner with global analytics firm Gallup to study more deeply the impact of the university’s new approach to undergraduate education.
