More famous than you knew

When the Daily Mail of London published a list of five “famous sites across the world [that] started life in another country,” Furman’s Place of Peace made the list. The structure, which is located on campus near the Asia Garden, is the first Japanese temple ever to be dismantled and reconstructed in America. Built in 1984 and donated by the Tsuzuki family, the Place of Peace is used as a teaching tool and meeting space for classes in different academic departments at Furman.
