Can Trump improve his approval rating?

Furman Politics and International Affairs Professor Danielle Vinson was quoted in a PBS NewsHour article that looks at President Trump’s first months in office, which includes a record low approval rating. While “conventional wisdom” suggests that Democrats could make big gains in the 2018 midterm election, Vinson is not so sure.  “But will that hold now,” she said, “or are we in this polarized era where it doesn’t matter what people think of the president, Republicans will continue to vote for Republicans, and Democrats will continue to vote for Democrats?”
