Steve Watson’s Career is Musical Medley
Steve Watson’s music career is studded with names like Bruce Hornsby, Dolly Parton, and noted music producer Michael Post. In the ’80s, Watson spent about 10 years in LA as a studio musician playing for hit TV shows like Magnum P.I., LA Law, The A-Team, and Hill Street Blues. In 1990, he opened a music business, and has since recorded his own music, earning a spot on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz chart. But the most gratifying part of his nearly 40-year career? In a piece by Donna Isbell Walker in The Greenville News, Watson says, “It’s very satisfying to know that I’ve helped a lot of people get into [the music business], and I feel confident they’re going to do well in what they do.” As a faculty member at Furman University and the Fine Arts Center, and through private lessons, Watson estimates he has impacted over 2,000 students.
