This is how the 15th hole looked prior to the redesign.

When the design team of PGA Tour star and Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III was hired to create the Atlantic Dunes golf course on Hilton Head Island, Furman’s Scot Sherman ’88 was on hand to help with the design and construction. The new course was built to replace the Ocean Course, the very first golf course constructed on Hilton Head. Sherman, a golf course architect who serves as the university’s director of campus planning and oversees the Furman golf course, is a lead architect for certain Love Golf Design projects. Sherman was quoted in a Palmetto Golfer article about Atlantic Dunes, which opened for play in October of this year. The article begins on page 11.
