Physically and Academically Fit

Research by Furman health sciences professor Julian Reed has consistently shown that physically active and physically fit children have greater academic performance, academic achievement, and enhanced cognition compared to their less active peers. Dr. Reed just completed his seventh year of studies at Legacy Charter School in Greenville, which includes looking at control schools with similar demographics. In an op-ed for The Greenville News, two top administrators at Legacy Charter write that his findings have been “astounding.”
