Lending a Hand

The $1,500 that Conway City Council paid for three of its police officers to attend leadership diversity training at the Riley Institute at Furman this spring will be money well spent for a group of young boys entering Conway High School this fall. The diversity leadership program, funded by the Duke Energy Foundation, teamed the three police officers with three Conway principals who spent much of their time at the leadership conference creating a program to help at-risk males learn to be men, set goals, stay out of trouble with the law, graduate from high school and make plans for the rest of their lives. The new partnership was featured in MyHorryNews.com.
