About The Program
The Clemens Angel Analyst Fellowship, established in Spring 2022, is the first of its kind among national liberal arts and sciences colleges; the program equips students for successful careers in angel investing, venture capital, private equity, or capital raises for their startup venture.
This 10-week transformational experience (non-credit), designed for up to twenty-five students, will provide the skills, experience, and network to accelerate their learning in early-stage venture investment. Through facilitated discussions, exercises, case studies, guest speakers, and mentoring, Fellows will learn VentureSouth’s signature due diligence framework to drive investment decisions. Following the 10-week fellowship, two Fellows have had the opportunity to join the VentureSouth team as a paid Analyst intern.
Analysts will have the opportunity to apply learnings from the Fellowship to real-world startups that are currently fundraising from the VentureSouth Angel Network

“My favorite aspect of The Clemens Angel Analyst Fellowship was the opportunity to connect with so many different entrepreneurs with varying experiences to learn from and apply to my future endeavors. My advice to someone who is hesitant to join the program is you do not need any special trait to be apart of this program you just need to have the willingness to learn.”

“My favorite aspect of Clemens Angel Analyst Fellowship was the speaker series, where entrepreneurs spoke about their business and how they got there. If you want to know more about what it takes to start your own business, venture capital, and entrepreneurship, then this is a great option for you! It’s not a huge time commitment and you can make good connections.”
This program is held in our Furman101 classroom in downtown Greenville! If you are worried about transportation, our team will help you coordinate a carpool with one of your classmates (typically, about half of the cohort carpools with the other).
Absolutely not, The Hill Institute will cover all parking costs by providing parking stickers if you park in the Richardson Street Parking Garage.
This is a great question! In this program’s history, we have had a large variety of participants, including student athletes. Though the program dates and times will not be shifted to accommodate practice schedules, a member of The Hill Institute Team will be happy to connect with your coach to help you become a Clemens Angel Analyst Fellow.
