What is career (occupational) wellbeing?

Career wellbeing is the ability to perform one’s job skillfully and effectively under conditions that provide personal and team fulfillment. Finding satisfaction and a sense of contribution and enrichment from one’s career and professional relationships is an integral component of occupational wellbeing.

  • Career goals & plans
  • Work/life balance
  • Autonomy
  • Pay
  • Career/skill development

Student Quote

“Career well-being can encompass different things depending on what stage you're at in college, but I think it means utilizing resources and taking advantage of opportunities to explore and develop your career. It can also mean making a plan or envisioning what some potential different paths could be, either alone or with a career advisor or mentor!"
