Required health and safety training, housing forms

Dear Students,

We are so excited to welcome our new students to Furman’s campus and our returning students back to campus this fall. Over the past several months, a team of faculty and staff have been working diligently to ensure that measures are in place to keep you and our community as safe as possible. This team has also been working to develop an option for students choosing to be remote learners for the semester.

As a part of our planning for a safe campus, we are requiring that all students, faculty, and staff complete online health and safety training before arriving.

All residential students are required to complete this training, to commit to the Paladin Promise, and to sign their Student Housing Agreement before picking up housing keys and attending classes.  Commuter students are also required to complete this training and commit to the Paladin PromiseRemote learners are encouraged to do so as well, but it is not required.

Students must complete these requirements before returning to campus. Please click HERE to complete the training and sign the forms.

It is important for each member of our community to recognize that even though Furman will take precautions to reduce the risks of COVID-19 on campus, individuals can never be completely shielded from all risk of illness caused by the virus, and everyone shares the responsibility for the health of our community. The university will continue to monitor the evolving circumstances to determine the appropriateness for adjustments and contingencies.

Watch a special message from physicians at Prisma Health and the Earle Student Health Center as they welcome students back to campus.

If you have not done so already, please submit the Fall Student Return Plan no later than August 10.

More information is available on our Furman Focused: Fall 2020 website. Please check this site and your email regularly for updates. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ken Peterson, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
