Townes Hall is located near our spring-fed lake, and houses freshmen participating in our living and learning community, Engaged Living. It is a co-ed residence hall. Each room shares a bathroom suite with another room.
Built in 1961, Townes Hall was remodeled in 2010. The residence hall is named after Alexander Townes, a Greenville native who graduated from Furman before the Civil War.
The hall is among seven residence halls that make up the Clark Murphy Housing Complex, which features some of the best views of Furman Lake.
