Townes Hall is a suite-style hall located near our spring-fed lake, and primarily houses freshmen, many of which are participating in Engaged Living and some sophomores. It is a co-ed residence hall by suite, meaning each room shares a bathroom suite with another room of the same gender.

Built in 1961, Townes Hall was remodeled in 2010. The residence hall is named after Alexander Townes, a Greenville native who graduated from Furman before the Civil War.

The hall is among seven residence halls that make up the Clark Murphy Housing Complex, which features some of the best views of Furman Lake.
