Mission

Furman Women’s Impact Network (FurmanWIN) is focused on providing leadership, engagement and philanthropic initiatives for Furman women with the goal of positively impacting The Furman Advantage.

Vision

Leveraging women’s leadership, engagement and philanthropic opportunities to achieve gender equity across giving and leadership at Furman University.

The Opportunity

While Furman alumnae are leaders in major industries and communities, they are lacking fundamental opportunities to connect and collaborate with one another and with the university. By creating increased opportunities for networking and involvement, the university will connect powerful women in the areas where they live and the industries in which they work. Furman aims to galvanize the support of women leaders and philanthropists to engage fellow alumni, influence students and advance programs and experiences. Although women’s participation on leadership boards is growing, most notably in the Young Alumni Council, Furman seeks to more proportionally fill these seats.

By strengthening the female network and creating further opportunities for engagement – with fellow alumni, students and community members – women will have a stronger representation and voice in the advancement of the university.
