Furman offers an undergraduate degree program with three tracks of study: chemistry, biochemistry and environmental chemistry. Our core curriculum consists of strong foundation courses complemented by electives in several areas, ranging from environmental chemistry to the chemistry of energy.
Chemistry majors should follow the department's proposed course sequence. Each course provides a foundation necessary to be successful in the remaining courses.
Our chemistry program teaches undergraduate students how to conduct independent research, work as part of a team, and collaborate in a research environment.
