Celebrate Students, Mentors at Furman Engaged

April 6, 2022

Dear Campus Community,

We are thrilled to return to an in-person Furman Engaged this year on April 12 to celebrate the accomplishments of our students and their mentors. Classes are suspended that day so we all may participate in this inspiring event.

This year, over 700 students will present, perform and reflect on their work, which includes scientific and social research, musical and theatrical performances, internships, community activities, service-learning, course and capstone projects, creative and non-fiction writing, and study away.

You can find information about all of the day’s events using the online program.

Starting at 8:30 a.m., throughout campus, students will present their work in 75 unique sessions, representing all academic departments, as well as Furman’s institutes and centers. Several sessions also will be livestreamed through the online program. And don’t miss the International Food Festival sponsored by FUISA (the Furman University International Student Association).

We especially encourage you to come to Timmons Arena at 3:30 p.m. to interact with the 100 student interns presenting at the Internship Gallery Walk and the 200 students presenting research posters.  Following these sessions, please join us for a celebration of students sponsored by the Heller Service Corps, including a toast, refreshments and live music.

Students may enter the Reflection Contest  to win $150 or the Purple Shoes Contest to win a pair of Furman Purple Nikes.

We look forward to seeing all of you at Furman Engaged.

Warmly,

Elizabeth Davis

President
