Center of Corporate and Professional Development
Furman’s Center for Corporate and Professional Development provides your company with all the tools you need to excel. We offer a wide range of classes in areas such as Leadership Development and Project Management. The courses are taught by knowledgeable members of the Furman faculty and instructors recruited from some of today’s most successful companies. The teaching methods include lectures, case studies, discussions, role-playing and computer-based simulations that link classroom knowledge to workplace reality. Furman Golf Club
The university has its own 18-hole golf course, which was just recently named one of the “30 Best Courses You Can Play in South Carolina.” The semi-private, par-72 golf course underwent a major renovation in 2008. All 18 greens were redesigned and sprigged with Champion Bermuda grass, and the course features a dozen new fairway bunkers. The course has four sets of tee markers: 6,993 yards (purple), 6,500 yards (black), 6,009 yards (white) and 5,281 yards (lavender). The course serves as the home of the men’s and women’s golf programs at Furman, which has produced such well-known golfers as Betsy King, Beth Daniel, Dottie Pepper and Brad Faxon.
Athletics
Furman University is home to numerous athletic teams that include football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, golf, softball, volleyball, and swimming. Football games take place at Paladin Stadium while many of the other events take place at Timmons Arena. A first class soccer stadium and tennis facility is also used by Furman student-athletes.

Furman Fine Arts
Furman University host first class and nationally renowned music and theatre programs. These programs offer a number of performances to the public throughout the year. Alumni of the music program include Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart.

Ropes Course
Furman’s PEAK Performance Ropes Course consists of a series of outdoor physical and mental challenges, noncompetitive games and problem-solving adventures, generally performed on low and high-ropes elements. To undertake and successfully meet these challenges, each team member must demonstrate mutual respect and trust, clear thinking, open communication, planned experimentation, and other team interactions. The result is a substantial boost in group cooperation and performance.
