The Dick and Tunky Riley WhatWorksSC Award is dedicated to celebrating remarkable education programs that are making a difference for children and communities. The award is given each year to a program that has demonstrated success in supporting public school students. Each fall at a lunch celebration, the Riley Institute awards the Dick and Tunky Riley WhatWorksSC Award to a program that has collected detailed program data showing its impact on South Carolina’s public school students. The winner receives a $10,000 cash award and each of the top two finalists receives $1,000. Following the awards ceremony, the winner and two finalists are added to the WhatWorksSC Clearinghouse each year. The WhatWorksSC Clearinghouse serves as a repository of high-quality, data-supported public education initiatives in South Carolina.
