Julie Dunson Meredith (she/her) is the Riley Institute’s Director of the Center for Critical Issues. Through this role, she sets strategic direction for events and programs that elevate understanding, dialogue, and change-making on issues critical to social progress.

Julie brings years of experience in addressing social problems through her work within Greenville’s nonprofit community. In her previous role as Director of Programs for Safe Harbor, Julie worked to build a continuum of services for survivors of domestic violence and to address systemic inequities impacting survivors through education and coordinated community responses. Julie has served in leadership roles with the Upstate Continuum of Care, Greenville Homeless Alliance, 13th Circuit Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, GOAL Justice, and other community groups. Julie holds a bachelors degree in Political Science and Religion from Furman University and a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.
