Dr. Christopher Weilage is a Lecturer in the Department of Business and Accounting at Furman University, where he teaches international business, international human resource management, and strategic management. He brings more than 20 years of experience in management education, with a particular emphasis on internationally oriented and experiential learning.

Prior to joining Furman, Weilage was Professor of International Management at Munich Business School in Germany. During his nearly two decades there, he taught undergraduate and graduate courses and contributed extensively to university leadership and governance. His roles included serving as MBA Program Director, an elected member of the University Senate, Equality Officer, and a member of the Research Committee.

Weilage’s academic and professional background spans the United States, Germany, Taiwan, UK, and Finland. He studied at seven universities worldwide and earned his Ph.D. from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, an MBA from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, an International MBA from Aalto University in Finland, and undergraduate degrees from Florida Atlantic University and Flagler College.

His teaching focuses on helping students connect management concepts with the practical challenges of working and leading across organizations, industries, and national contexts.

Research Interests

My research focuses on international management and management education, particularly how individuals and organizations adapt to technological, cross-cultural, and institutional change. Key areas of interest include digital and hybrid learning, technology acceptance, international student development and employability, cross-cultural competence, experiential and service learning, employee onboarding and organizational socialization, and sustainable management practices. I am particularly interested in research that connects academic inquiry with practical challenges in international education and business.
