Sali Christeson ’07 talks fashion, Furman

Furman University business alumna Sali (Sumer) Christeson ’07, founder and CEO of Argent, spoke to Furman alumna Leigh Savage ’94 (political science) of TOWN magazine about women’s work wear and how it can build confidence for professionals in a post-COVID world. The story ran last year, and as classic threads are timeless, the piece ran again in the August issue of TOWN.

Christeson reflected on her time at Furman. “I had the most incredible Furman experience,” she said. “It was such a pivotal growth period for me, mainly for developing the social and leadership skills that are essential for running a successful business. My favorite part of my experience was networking. I was always on the hunt for social activities and looking to form relationships with fellow students. While I didn’t know then that I would end up in fashion one day, the foundational learning that I gained from Furman are what ultimately gave me the confidence to take the leap and embark on my journey with Argent.”

In addition to her bachelor’s from Furman, Christeson holds a master’s from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina. She received The Tom A. Triplitt Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2022.
