The work of Furman University Composer-in-Residence Mark Kilstofte, a professor of music, received its world premiere June 16 at Duke University Chapel. The composition, “Invisible Angels,” is Kilstofte’s setting of Rainer Maria Rilke’s “Klage” and represents the third and latest in the composer’s series of Rilke settings. The piece was part of a summer concert, “What the Earth Says,” performed by the 32-member Vocal Arts Ensemble of Durham and directed by Rodney Wynkoop. Learn more on the Triangle Sings website.
