Furman monitoring expected storm

The Greenville area, including the Furman University campus, is expected to experience heavy rain and gusty winds through at least this afternoon. There is a chance of severe thunderstorms, along with strong wind gusts and flooding along rivers, creeks and low-lying areas prone to flooding.

Please use caution when traveling to and from Furman and while walking on campus. While Furman remains open, if you feel unsafe traveling to campus because of current or expected weather conditions you may make alternative arrangements after consulting with your instructor or supervisor.

Working with the National Weather Service, University Police will continue to monitor conditions on campus and send emergency notifications as needed.
