Furman holds campus event this Saturday for interested high school seniors
For the first time, high school seniors interested in applying to Furman University have the opportunity for a campus experience tailored just for them.
Fall for Furman is for seniors only this weekend, Saturday, Oct. 4, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., gives high school seniors an early look at campus and all the application information they need before Early Decision and Early Action applications are due Nov. 1.
Students who miss this weekend’s event may still attend the Nov. 15 Fall for Furman, which welcomes high school juniors and seniors, said Elizabeth Hawthorne Martin, director of recruitment for Furman.
The senior-only Fall for Furman event will focus on college application strategies in advance of Furman’s Early Decision and Early Action deadlines, and it’s in conjunction with the annual Family Weekend, giving visiting high school students and their families the chance to meet and talk with current Furman students and their families, as well as alumni who attend the event.
Fall for Furman also includes:
- A guided tour of Furman’s campus, voted among the most beautiful in the country
- Insights from admissions counselors and current students on navigating the college search
- Conversations with professors and staff about academics, advising and career support
- A closer look at housing, student life and Furman’s distinctive approach to education
- Opportunities to connect with current students to hear their stories
- A chance to attend a Division I Paladin football game
- Tailgating with the Furman community
Fall for Furman gives interested students “an authentic glimpse into what makes the Furman experience so unique,” Martin said.
“For students still deciding whether to apply, Fall for Furman is a chance to explore Furman more deeply and determine if it’s the right fit,” Martin said. “And for students who are confident they will apply, it’s an opportunity to envision life as a Paladin and gather helpful application insights.”
