Furman Graduate Mancino ’24 Admitted to Northwestern Pritzker Law
Christian Mancino ’24, a native of Morton Grove, Illinois, embraced his passion for law during his junior year of high school when he visited Furman as a Top Mock participant. The thrill of the courtroom experience sparked an interest that would shape his academic and professional journey.
At Furman, Mancino pursued a double major in economics and politics and international affairs, complemented by a minor in data analytics. He also competed on Furman’s nationally recognized Mock Trial team, gaining invaluable advocacy skills. His commitment to exploring legal careers extended beyond campus – while studying abroad on Furman’s faculty-led program in London. There, Mancino interned at Pogust Goodhead, an international law firm. Upon returning to Greenville, he continued his hands-on experience with an internship at Toates Law Firm.
After graduating in 2024, Mancino made his way to Chicago, where he has served as a junior paralegal at Kirkland & Ellis, one of the world’s leading law firms, while preparing his law school applications. His hard work paid off and Mancino recently announced his admission to Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, one of the nation’s most prestigious Top 14 law schools, which reported an acceptance rate of just 12% last year. He continues the strong tradition of Furman alumni accepted to law school, a rate that currently stands at 88% of those who choose to apply.
“Furman gave me every opportunity to explore the legal profession – from Mock Trial to internships abroad,” Mancino said. “The mentorship I received from faculty and the rigor of my coursework prepared me to compete at the highest level.”
