Lisa Lambert, a 1980 Furman University biology alumna and longtime professor and administrator at Pittsburgh’s Chatham University, has been named the university’s 21st president. Lambert, who graduated Furman magna cum laude, was a Phi Beta Kappa inductee. She went on to earn her Ph.D. in genetics at Indiana University-Bloomington in 1985, the same year she joined Chatham as a biology faculty member.

She also served as provost and vice president of academic affairs and has filled the role of interim president since June.
