Emily Schuck speaks with U.S. News about financial aid, CSS Profile

U.S. News and World Report turned to Furman University’s Emily Schuck for insights about the College Scholarship Service Profile (CSS), a tool mostly used by private universities to determine the amount of scholarship aid for students. Schuck, vice president for enrollment management, said, “We implemented the CSS Profile as an alternative for families to be able to submit that financial information and be able to get financial aid estimates on time.” Schuck added that Furman has continued to use the CSS Profile because “it provides a clearer picture into the student and the family’s particular financial situation than the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) does.”
