In an article by Abraham Kenmore, Furman University’s Danielle Vinson commented on a race in the Republican primary between U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace and her chief rival, Catherine Templeton. Vinson, a Furman alumna and professor of politics and international affairs, said the contest between the two frontrunners in South Carolina’s coastal 1st Congressional District is more about style than substance since the candidates don’t hold widely different stances on the issues. Vinson also addressed the importance of political endorsements in the upcoming election and how an arrest in Templeton’s family may play out. Learn more in The South Carolina Daily Gazette.
