In the wake of Iranian strikes on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that the ceasefire in the war was effectively over. FOX Carolina News turned to Furman University’s Brent Nelsen for comment. Nelsen, the Jane Fishburne Hipp Professor of Politics and International Affairs, told FOX Carolina the action represented “a difficult moment” for the warring parties because a failure to achieve a durable ceasefire renders an unstable and uncertain path forward. In the same interview, Nelsen spoke about the gridlock in Washington over the bipartisan Housing Act.
