A concert like no other
If you wander near a mall or large shopping center during the holidays, you’ll likely see the familiar red Salvation Army donation kettle attended by a crimson-clad, bell-ringing volunteer. What you don’t often see is a five-member brass and wind ensemble. Reid Parker, a 2018 Furman University business administration and history alumnus, is part of a long-running family tradition of entertaining at a Salvation Army kettle located in his hometown of Naples, Florida. While at Furman, Reid was part of the Jazz Ensemble, the Paladin Regiment and the Investment Club. He now works in the family business. Read about the tradition in Naples Daily News.
