Furman University’s Four-Year Pathway program and the Malone Center for Career Engagement received recognition in a newsletter published by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). Winner of the 2025 NACE Career Services Excellence Award for small colleges, Furman worked with Gallup in 2017 to identify ways to bolster career competencies and readiness. Among the outcomes of the collaboration with Gallup was the Four-Year Pathway, which spans every year of the undergraduate experience and prepares students early to enter the workforce. For the article, NACE turned to Furman’s Lauren Payne, assistant vice president of career and professional development, and Kristin Irwin, director of career education.
