Vinson explains Congress members’ use of the ‘frank’

Furman University’s Danielle Vinson is tapped for an article appearing in The Post and Courier – Greenville about the practice of “franking” among members of Congress. The centuries-old practice allows congressmen and congresswomen to use taxpayer funds for messaging, but not for campaigning. Vinson, a politics and international affairs professor, said the frank is a useful tool to keep names of candidates fresh in the minds of voters during primary season.
