Guest on FOX Carolina, Henderson discusses newly elected superintendent of education

Furman University’s Scott Henderson, an education professor, sat down with Justin Dougherty of WHNS FOX Carolina to discuss the results of the Nov. 8 midterms, in particular, the election of Republican Ellen Weaver for South Carolina superintendent of education. Henderson touched on the legislature and school choice, how to shore up the learning gap ushered in by COVID-19 and remote learning, and ways we can enhance teacher retention in the state. “The superintendent-elect is certainly going to have her hands full,” Henderson said.
