Furman Reopens Applications

Furman University has re-opened applications for admission to allow prospective students additional time to apply for the 2020-21 academic year. The university announced Wednesday, April 22, that submissions are open through the  Common Application and Coalition Application.

“Given the uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, we understand that students and families might be reconsidering their college plans,” said Brad Pochard, dean of admissions and financial aid at Furman. “Furman attracts some of the best and brightest students in the nation, and we want to ensure each student has ample time and opportunity to apply for admission.”

The extension might be especially helpful for students from the Southeast looking to remain closer to home, and for students from highly affected COVID-19 regions who would like to relocate to an area that has experienced lower rates of infection, Pochard said.

Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, and enrollment deadlines will be extended into the early summer. An exact end date has not been determined. Prospective applicants should contact Furman’s Office of Admissions for more information. To view a listing of academic programs at Furman, visit the Academic Departments page.
