Opinion: Take COVID-19 Seriously, the life you save may be mine

In an op-ed published by The Greenville News, Carmela Epright, professor of philosophy, used data and a personal perspective to  challenge the notion that the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic are being sensationalized, and the virus isn’t a serious threat.

“Statements such as this are dangerously misinformed,” she wrote. “This pandemic will become much worse before it gets better, will not end soon, will only spread faster if we deny its danger, and has a deadly trajectory unaffected by arbitrary dates established by politicians. I know this both as a medical ethicist and as a person with an autoimmune disease.
