Paladins lend a hand on MLK Day of Service

Scores of Furman students, faculty and staff lent a hand to non-profit agencies across Greenville on the MLK Day of Service 2020.

After gathering in the Trone Center Monday morning, teams split up to provide community service for Habitat for Humanity, Safe Harbor, Open Arms Hospice, United Ministries and other organizations. They cleaned, organized, prepared toiletry kits and other duties.

“We had another great turnout with 256 people showing up to help the community at 13 sites across the Upstate. This has become one of Furman’s signature community projects each year, and reflects the spirit and purpose of the MLK Day of Service,” said Deborah Allen, director of the Center for Inclusive Communities at Furman who organized the day.
