Activists gear up for big fight over abortion
National Public Radio correspondent Sarah McCammon says the Supreme Court may be on the cusp of dramatically rolling back the right to an abortion ushered in by the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. Covering the governor’s race in Kentucky and the impact of the Susan B. Anthony List, a national anti-abortion-rights group, McCammon spoke to Furman University Politics and International Affairs Professor Glen Halva-Neubauer. “I think after many years of being relatively dormant as an issue, we are going to see a next big debate over abortion,” Halva-Neubauer said. “And it’s going to infuse our politics in a way that we haven’t seen, probably, for 15 or so years.” Read more about the story at NPR.org, and a host of local public radio stations.
