A man of courage and honor

Former President Bill Clinton praised Furman alum Richard W. Riley on Monday as a man of courage who displayed great respect for others and who “kept score in the right way.” Clinton was the keynote speaker for the official unveiling of a collection of Riley’s political papers at a University of South Carolina library. Riley, the former Governor of South Carolina and former U.S. Secretary of Education under President Clinton, has been a friend of Clinton’s since the two men were both elected governor in 1978.  Read more in The Greenville News.
