A conversation about higher education
During an interview on the half-hour television program “Carolina Business Review,” Furman President Elizabeth Davis talks about some of the major challenges facing higher education, including affordability and the need for students to have meaningful experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
The weekly program, which focuses on business and public policy issues and airs on 22 PBS stations in North and South Carolina, had numerous airings throughout June.
Two panelists joined Dr. Davis on the program—Carlos Phillips, president of the Greenville, S.C., Chamber of Commerce, and Joe Stewart, executive director of the North Carolina Free Enterprise Foundation. The show is hosted by Chris William.
Since it began in 1990, Carolina Business Review is the most widely watched source in the Carolinas for business and public policy issues. The program is taped at the WTVI studio in Charlotte.
