Julie Jarriel hasn’t been a high school English teacher for very long. In fact, she was a Furman student majoring in English less than a year ago. But the young educator, who graduated in 2013, already has been recognized for her work in the classroom by being named the secondary school winner of the 2013 Alfred and Marybeth Bunting Childers Foundation Teaching Excellence Award, which is presented by Furman to two promising recent graduates who teach in local schools.  The Greenville News reported on Jarriel’s outstanding work in the classroom.
