Through a competitive renewal, Furman has received a third 5-year award from the NIH INBRE mechanism. This award (SC INBRE 3) provides a minimum of 5 (five) NIH INBRE Faculty Fellow awards each summer (2016-2020) to Furman investigators including each of the following components:
- $6,000 summer research stipend for the faculty mentor
- $4,500 in summer salary for each undergraduate research student (paid as salary; FICA/taxes withheld)
- $2,000 in research supplies support for each undergraduate research student
Any faculty member is eligible to apply, provided their research efforts are in the general domain of biomedical science and amenable to potential NIH or NSF funding. Applicants will submit a 4-page Proposal Narrative (in addition to budget, submission plan and NIH Biographical Sketch).
Proposals must be submitted electronically to the Office of Integrative Research in the Sciences by Friday January 10, 2020, with funding decisions anticipated by March 2020.
