Loneliness, Connection, and Community Well-Being
Feeling connected to others isn’t just uplifting — it’s essential to our health. A recent NPR podcast on loneliness and social isolation reminds us that while technology can help bridge gaps, human connection remains a core part of well-being. 🎧 You can listen to the episode or read the transcript here: NPR | Loneliness and isolation podcast.
“In a world where loneliness often goes unnoticed, intentional connection can be a powerful act of care for ourselves and for one another.”(Inspired by themes from the NPR podcast)
At the Institute for the Advancement of Community Health, we believe these discussions are vital. That’s why we’re hosting the next installment of our Community Health Conversations series focused on Social Connections and Community Well-Being.

Why This Matters
Research shows that strong social connections can decrease stress, improve mental health, and enhance resilience. Yet many people experience loneliness or disconnection due to work, caregiving, geographic distance, or life transitions. This event brings community members together to share perspectives, build understanding, and explore what real connection looks like in everyday life.
Whether you’re a health professional, student, community leader, or someone who cares about stronger, healthier communities, we hope you’ll join us.
