Join the Furman family Thursday, April 13^th as we kick off Furman’s campaign and host the fourth annual Paladin Pitch Competition.

You will not only hear from Furman’s finest new entrepreneurs, you will witness the winner take home the freshly minted $10,000 “Johnny Flynn Paladin Pitch Award”!

“The Johnny Flynn Paladin Pitch Award is named in honor of Johnny Flynn ‘69 who was the ultimate entrepreneur and had numerous business enterprises including real estate home markets, land development, and timber sales in the Upstate of South Carolina. In addition, Johnny mentored those who were interested in buying, renovating, and selling real estate as well as those wishing to develop land.  Johnny embodied the entrepreneurial spirit of dealing with the unknown and embracing innovation.”

This fellowship is an 8 week transformational experience (non-credit) partnered with VentureSouth for students interested in gaining skills, experience, and a network to equip them for successful careers in angel investing, venture capital, private equity, or capital raises for their startup venture. Students will learn VentureSouth’s due diligence framework to drive investment decisions.
