Furman values its relationship with the Greenville community. We are saddened that our Greenville neighbors are currently unable to access the lake and other outdoor facilities. As soon as the health metrics in Greenville improve, we will be eager to reopen campus for limited access. Until then, Furman will remain closed to community guests. If you are a prospective student and wish to learn more about admissions and campus tours, please refer to our Visit Furman page or contact the Office of Admissions at email@example.com or your admission counselor.
The following facilities will not be accessible to visitors for the duration of the fall semester:
The Golf Course is open and available to the public.
Please check back periodically for updates on outdoor access to the campus.
Alumni, parents, and other guests may be invited to campus, and appropriate health and safety protocols will be shared by the organizing department or office. The Furman host is responsible for ensuring these health and safety protocols are followed.
Vendors and contractors must be approved to enter campus buildings. All companies will be required to review and sign safety requirements before their employees and associated subcontractors are allowed to work at Furman. Submit the completed safety requirements form to Jeff Redderson, AVP for Facility and Campus Services, for review and approval.
Sports Medicine patients may continue to access the Alley Gym and the PAC therapy pool as prescribed and scheduled by Sports Medicine staff.
Athletics will communicate directly with season ticket holders.
We especially invite our OLLI students and Woodlands residents to continue participating in Furman-sponsored events in a virtual capacity.
When Furman reopens the campus to external groups for non-Furman sponsored weddings, conferences, meetings, and other approved events, it will only be in the following locations:
This list of facilities is subject to change based on the needs for academic classroom spaces as the priority.
These locations allow for minimal interaction with students, faculty, and staff. External groups who have rented space on campus will have to comply with all campus-wide health and safety guidelines and venues will be subject to limited capacity to ensure physical distancing protocols can be followed. External groups who have rented approved space on campus will not be allowed access to any other buildings (the guidance for Campus Visitors above applies).
Groups will be charged for the use of space, plus any additional costs associated with ensuring physical distancing compliance and other safety measures, as well as added cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
The university will closely monitor the evolving circumstances related to COVID-19, along with rapidly developing scientific knowledge and medical resources, to determine the appropriateness for adjustments and contingencies.
