Fall semester town halls scheduled for Aug. 3, 4, 5

Dear Students and Families,

Furman University’s Fall Semester Planning Team invites you to attend one of two virtual town halls for new and returning students and their families to learn more about the university’s plans and to answer any questions you may have about the Fall 2020 semester.

The town hall panels will include President Elizabeth Davis, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Ken Peterson, and Vice President for Student Life Connie Carson. Director of Student Involvement and Inclusion Jessica Berkey-Barnes will moderate and other Academic Affairs and Student Life staff members will be available to answer questions specific to academics, housing and other areas.

  • New Students and Families Town Hall – Monday, August 3, at 6 p.m.
    To participate, please register here.
  • Returning Students and Families Town Hall – Wednesday, August 5, at 6 p.m.
Registration for this town hall has reached capacity.

The town halls are limited to 500 registrants each. Please register and participate as a family (rather than each person or students and parents registering individually). The town halls will be recorded and shared on the Furman Focused website for those who may not be able to attend.

So we can be best prepared, we also ask that you submit in advance any questions you may have by no later than Friday, July 31, using this form. We will also take questions during the town halls through the webinar chat function.

If you need any accommodations to fully participate, please email your requests to jessica.berkeybarnes@furman.edu. Requests must be received at least two business days before the date of the event.

More information about our planning for the fall semester is available on our Furman Focused website. Please check this site and your email regularly for updates. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ken Peterson, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
