Updates on reimbursement and moving out
SUBJECT: Reimbursement/refund, housing information
Dear Furman Students and Families,
Furman University will reimburse room and board at a prorated level and is currently processing refunds as expediently as possible. Reimbursement for room and board will be prorated from March 16 to May 5, and students who receive refunds will see them on their accounts by April 9. Please ensure that your direct deposit information is current in MyFurman to facilitate electronic transfer of funds.
For more information, please see Enrollment Services or email email@example.com.
Gift of refund to Parents Fund
Many members of our Furman family have reached out to ask what they can do to help our students and the university continue its academic mission, including donating room and board refunds to Furman as a tax-deductible philanthropic gift. If you are interested in giving your refund to the Parents Fund, please email firstname.lastname@example.org by next Friday, March 27.
If you receive your refund and want to donate it at that time, you may make a gift online or contact email@example.com for other ways to give.
Returning to campus to retrieve personal items
To clarify the instructions from yesterday’s (March 19) email, students may return to move out through Sunday, April 5. Students unable to move out by April 5, for any reason, may request an extension by completing the Move-out Extension Request Form in the Applications dropdown menu in the Housing Self-Service Portal. When you do decide to return to campus to move out, please coordinate with your roommate(s) so you and your families are not all moving out at the same time. Please refer to the March 19 email for additional instructions.
Step 3 (room selection) of the Housing Lottery is postponed until the week of April 6. Housing and Residence Life will be in touch next week with instructions for you to move forward in the process.
For questions related to housing and other Student Life issues, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you, again, for your flexibility and understanding.
