Major: Theatre Arts

What else are you involved with on campus?Student Jason Roberts stands with his bicycle

I am involved in the Order of Furman Theatre and the Theatre department, as well as the Political Thought Club.

What is your favorite Engaged Living memory?

My favorite memory from Engaged Living was the camaraderie that emerged within our program. There was a strong sense of community that allowed us to work closely together on class work and form friendships with likeminded people.

Why did you apply to Engaged Living?

I applied to the Engaged Living program because it seemed like a unique way to start my college career. I was struck by the idea of a learning and living community that would share both my interests and my priorities about education. The Politics and the Good Life program, as well as all of the other Engaged Living programs were full of dedicated and driven people, and those were the people that I wanted to be around.

How did Engaged Living make an impact on your Furman experience?

One of the biggest impacts that Engaged Living had on my time at Furman was introducing me to the Storeys. They have both been mentors and have taught me many lessons about Political Thought, transitioning into college life, and what it means to live a good life. This program is a great way to make real connections with other students and with professors.
