September 30 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Join Fox Carolina’s The Wellness Files podcast for a special live broadcast at Furman University.

For many years, clinical trials did not always include a broad range of participants across gender, race, and life experiences. What happens when treatments reach the public without fully reflecting on the people they are meant to serve? This conversation will explore how representation in research can affect diagnosis, medication effectiveness, side effects, and trust in healthcare systems.

Panelists:

Dr. Shaniece Criss | Director, M.A. in Advocacy and Social Policy program & Associate Professor of Health Sciences

Dr. Kerry Sease | Executive Director, Institute for the Advancement of Community Health & Physician

Moderator:

Kari Beal | Fox Carolina News 4 pm Anchor, Health Reporter, and Host of The Wellness Files

This event is open to the public and will include a question-and-answer period at the end.
