Interested in creating a 1960s urban playground or a Commedia dell’Arte traveling set? Our scene shop will give you all the tools you need to transport the audience to a new world. Located in the heart of The Playhouse, our scene shop is a convenient and safe space for you to learn your craft. Our professors will teach you how to use the shop’s power tools and other equipment to construct all kinds of scenery out of wood, Styrofoam, and steel. Once the sets are built, you’ll use our full palette of dry, scenic pigments to create 3-D effects.

The scene shop uses the following equipment:

  • Air hose stations
  • Assembly table
  • Chop saw
  • CutAwl saw
  • Drill press
