Philosophy is present in our everyday lives, from decisions in the medical field to the way we view food.

We use philosophy to help us understand the societies and cultures around us. Here at Furman, we emphasize a hands-on curriculum that explores and investigates humanity’s place in nature and history. Our program will prepare you for graduate study in philosophy, but our students have also become doctors, lawyers, engineers, artists, social workers, ministers, and more.
