Furman is pleased to offer students one of the best music programs among liberal arts colleges in the nation. We have both a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Music as degree options, with multiple areas of study available additionally.

Do you have some interest in becoming involved with our program? Below we have two options for finding an outlet for your musical interests!

Upcoming Auditions

The department of Music will soon be conducting auditions for students (majors and non-majors) who wish to participate in the program and receive a scholarship. Auditions will be coordinated for the months of January and February both in-person and virtually. Generally, outcomes of these auditions are communicated in March. Stay tuned for more updates!

Ensembles

Students of any major are also welcome to participate in one of our ensembles! We hold over 260 public concerts and events each year in a variety of  In order to gain membership, students take part in a low pressure audition at the beginning of the semester. Ensembles and bands only rehearse 2-3 times a week for two hours at a time, rendering the time commitment very manageable.

Below are a handful of ensembles students can participate in:

  • Jazz Ensembles
  • Marching Band
  • Pep Band
  • Symphonic Band
