CYA: Athens, Greece

Athens, the capital of Greece and a European capital that is both rich in history and a contemporary hub for art, international business and relations, and debate on economic, political, and migration issues. CYA has been offering study abroad opportunities in Greece for over 50 years. Each semester hosts approximately 100 with the average class size ranging from 10 – 15 students. From archaeological digs to onsite courses to field trips (included in tuition), CYA encourages students to actively engage with their course material. The CYA curriculum includes courses in a wide range of academic disciplines including Art & Art History, Archaeology, Classical Languages (Ancient Greek and Latin),  History, Modern Greek Language, Political Science, Religion, and Urbanism & Sustainability, focusing on European and East Mediterranean Area Studies, Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies, and Ancient Greek Studies. Courses are taught in English, except for language courses.

CYA provides and connects students with a number of extracurricular activities and internships/service learning.  Past examples of internships that in which CYA staff has placed students include:
